The Cartier Polo Cup

When a trip is better than what I could have imagined, I ask yourself if there is really any need to plan my journeys. I had promised my brother that I would visit him in Reading, London as soon as I got a job in Germany. So during the last weekend, I was there.
I couldn't have chosen a better time: on Sunday the Cartier Polo Cup was played. It is one of the best of England and the national english team was going to play against New Zealand.
On Saturday I went to a practise polo match riding one of the polo ponies. It was a little bit strange at first because I haven't ride a horse since many years but then it was like being in my childhood again. I have grown up surrounded by horses and these four-legged animals can be as expressive as dogs.
In the afternoon I meet the polo grooms. All of them were Argentinian, since that is the country where the best players and horses come from.
On Sunday we went to the polo match. At first I was a little confused with the game but my brother refresh my memory explaining again the rules. It wasn't a good game but I was interesting to see the people who go to those events. I don't know how many of them would be there if Polo wasn't a synonym for status. After the game, we spent the whole afternoon dancing "Cuateto", a popular dance from the argentinian province of Cordoba.
On the whole I really enjoyed this trip because horses will always remember me the roots of my identity.

all were argentinian, and on Sunday we watch the Cartier polo match.

The make things even better, there was a practise polo match on Saturday.
