Wohngemeinschaft, a german trend
During the last four months I lived for the first time in a "Wohngemeinschaft", a shared flat or house. They are not only a cheap type of accommodation but also a good way to make friends, meet people of other cultures and practice a foreign language,
Most Germans leave the house of their parents as soon as they can. They normally land in a shared flat with their friends. After a while some of them must move to another city to study or make some plans with their girlfriend/boyfriend. So at the end they start accepting stranger as flatmates. This is what makes german shared flats different: most of the people how live together know each other since just a couple of months.
I had with Aloysius and Paul some discussions but they were all about football. We had a lot of fun with the result of the game Germany vs. Argentina. I also had the opportunity to taste food from Camerun and to learn about the "dialects" of English. All in all it was a rich experience that I would like to repeat.
